What is Ghee?
Ghee or ‘Ghritam’ is considered a sacred medicine in Ayurveda. It’s a sweet, cooling, light, and nourishing fat that is produced by heating cultured butter to remove the milk solids and water, lending a beautifully golden colored liquid, that is lactose-free and rich in nutrients. Traditionally prepared according to the cycles of the moon, and while reciting a mantra, it is not only healing for the body, but also for the mind.

Preparation Process
Rea Ghee is traditionally prepared, using cultured butter which slowly melts over a gentle heat until the milk solids separate from the fat. The butterfat then continues simmering until the protein solids harden, and the water evaporates completely. The amber liquid is carefully strained through a fine cloth into the jars, lending a pure, caramel scented Ghee.
Health Benefits
Ghee is possibly the richest food source in Butyric Acid (Butyrate), which supports strong digestion, bile production, and a healthy gut microbiome.
It also contains CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), which promotes weight loss, prevents cancer formation, and reduces inflammation.
It is a good source of fat-soluble vitamins, including A, D, E, and K, all are important nutrients for maintaining healthy vision, skin, and overall health.
Other healing properties of Ghee include improvement in cognitive function, reproductive health, sexual vitality, nervine strength, and good levels of (HDL) cholesterol. Being a lubricant, it treats constipation and excess dryness in the body.
Ghee is very Sattvic, builds Ojas (strength and immunity), and promotes intelligence. It is deeply nourishing and has a calming and grounding effect on the mind, which helps alleviate anxiety and restlessness.
Storing
– Ghee can be stored outside of the fridge without going bad. It keeps for 2 months without refrigeration and 4 months in the fridge

– Use it like you would butter, on toast, cooked vegetables, in soups and stews, in baking, and cooking. You can even add it to warm drinks and coffee
